This 1966 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe was used in the Brooks & Dunn music video for Red Dirt Road and was a grand prize giveaway in a 2003 Country Music Television sweepstakes. It was refurbished before being acquired by the seller and their father in 2017, and subsequent work consisted of installing an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and a power steering system, retrofitting a modern performance audio setup, and replacing the differential bearings, fuel pump, and battery. It is powered by a 389ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and further details include a Hurst shifter, 15? Rally II-style wheels, and power steering. The cabin is appointed with black vinyl bucket seats, woodgrain paneling, a center console, and a concealed audio system with aftermarket components. This GTO is now offered with PHS Automotive Services documents, historical documentation, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The body has been repainted black with red pinstripes, and exterior elements include stacked headlights, a faux hood scoop, GTO badging, and chrome trim on the grille, bumpers, window surrounds, and rocker panels.

Rally II-style 15? wheels wear red PMD centers and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial red-line tires with 2009 production date codes.Β The car is equipped with power steering and a stabilizer bar.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl, and interior appointments include woodgrain paneling, a center console, a Hurst shifter, and a concealed Bluetooth receiver linked to Alpine audio components and a subwoofer mounted in the spare tire well.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel-level gauge. The speedometer is not accurate at highway speeds. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The seller tells us the replacement 389ci V8 has later β€œ6X” cylinder heads, and an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor was installed along with replacement ignition components in 2017. An oil seep is noted.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the 10-bolt Safe-T-Track rear end received replacement bearings in 2017. The fuel pump and filter were replaced in November 2024.
